Does Anyone Know It's Christmas?

You're breaking through the darkness. The silence that has been deafening. For so long Your people sat waiting and waiting to hear from You. You had not forgotten them - you too were waiting. I wonder if those years of silence were as painful for You? Why were You silent? Had everything been said? Was nothing left to say? Did anyone notice Your silence?

You broke through the darkness and the silence with the cry of a baby. A baby who came to die. a baby who came to bring hope and peace and life forever more. How far we have wandered from that place. That place of purpose and darkness being shattered.

Red bows, gifts, elves- it's all so much fun, but it's not really Christmas, is it? Christmas is not so sweet and sentimental, but rather it is powerful, forceful, putting death in it's place, cry a battle cry kind of celebration. A reminder that all around, there is nothing but darkness. Nothing but pain and hopelessness for so many people. Does anyone know that it's Christmas? That light has blasted through the darkness and the cry of a baby has shattered the silence? That there is hope? That there is hope? There is hope!
