Write Away!

It's hard to believe but we have been back here in the motherland for a year now. It's been a year of rest, reflection, new friendships, new dreams and so many many more good things. It really has been a time to learn how to breathe - one breath at a time. There have been some painful moments as we face some of those lingering giants and old familiar aches from wounds that were not properly tended to that healed into ugly scars. We have been blessed with old friendships and new ones all playing vital roles in this past year.

As we began to breathe more easily and could see the beauty of this new found life our hearts began to ache to be useful vessels again. Pencils in the hand of the author of this great story. So we prayed and waited, knowing that the answer would come when He was ready. And it did....

We are now in one of the last stages of being placed as missionaries in an apartment complex. Our covert title will be Resident Retention Specialist which is great for the apartment complex but opens the doors for us to connect with the residents. The process has been moving along quite quickly and God has ordered each step from the return of the ants that gave reason for us to break our lease to being given a placement by the end of our initial meeting. Of course the placement or assignment that we were given was not where I wanted! He knew I wanted to be in a particular area but this was not there! This was further out -this actually has a Houston address!

We agreed to pray about it even though we were pretty sure it was a NO! As I prayed I heard God say, "You prayed for a placement within 24 hours that's what I gave you. What's the problem? You accepted the ants, the timing of everything else why is this a struggle?" He was right (go figure!) I had no problem accepting His answers when it went along with my plans so how could I resist when He continued to provide even if it wasn't my plan?

So, we have accepted a placement and we are trusting that either He will provide Rob with a new better job closer or that the 60 min commute will be a breeze for him. Either way we know that God has a plan for us, the residents and staff at our soon to be new home.

Father, write a beautiful story with us. Sharpen us when we get dull and leave a mark on us from gripping so tightly.
